UX Design
The challenge
With elaborate but colorful brand guidelines and copywriting provided by the client, we were tasked with constructing an informational web experience for their platform. The task at hand was to balance an extremely dynamic brand with the complex content architecture required to meet crucial business, user, and content needs, all while maintaining a clean and seamless appearance.
The solution
Iterating on the balance of vibrancy and user-friendliness helped us choose the ultimate design direction. From there, it was a matter of cleverly putting together the missing pieces. Following the design system‘s core, we developed themes and elements to enhance the web experience and marketing communication. Putting everything together resulted in a fascinating website designed to demonstrate the benefits of a powerful employee appreciation program.
Understanding and tastefully applying the design system
To maintain the imagined brand vibrancy, it was crucial for us to embrace the full extent of the provided color tones and color gradients. We made strategic choices as to the specific uses and intended messaging for each primary and secondary color asset. This gave way to a more confident and intentional color application which informed the look and feel of all types of components and imagery. Although the final product included many hues, their careful and planned usage resulted in an intuitive web experience absent of visual clutter.
Lightweight and aesthetically pleasing web components
The initial design decisions continued to inform more complex ways the brand’s color system applies to components across the website. Paired with imagery, application snippets and the carefully designed iconography, it led to the creation of visually delightful checkpoints in the user experience that accentuated the product’s energetic approach to employee recognition.
Design and information hierarchy for a seamless experience
Wireframes were essential in the early stages of the project. Together with the preliminary copy, they served as the initial point of all design and development. The final puzzle pieces of the website design quickly came together once emerging patterns and repeating sectional components were defined. This in turn resulted not only in a more scannable user experience, but also in an efficient development and ensured equally efficient future website management.
The results
The procedural creative work we did on this project, would not have met the success it did without the deep understanding of the brand, the business and the user audience. The web solution we arrived at, did not only meet but also exceeded the client‘s expectations. It reflected the vibrancy of the brand while also establishing a cohesive and compelling digital presence for our client in the HR tech landscape.
